General Internet

What is a cookie? What do they do?
Cookies are text-only strings that are entered into the memory of your browser when you visit certain websites. They are not executable programs, so they cannot harm your computer. They can be used as a tracking device. Sometimes this can be very useful to you (permitting personalized information without forcing you to constantly enter passwords).
For more information see Cookies: What Are They? or visit our Surfing The Web section.
How can I improve my connection speed?

For more information see Connection Problems/Disconnects or visit our Modem Tuning section.
What is an email alias and what's it good for?
An email alias is another email address, longer than the standard 8 character limit. Email aliases don't have a physical email box to which messages are delivered. Instead, an alias is associated with another REAL email box. This box can reside here at Cape.Com or anywhere else on the Internet.
Using Cape.Com's On-Line Accounting these aliases can be created, edited, or deleted at any time.
For more information see What Are Email Aliases? or visit our Adding Additional Users section.
