Cape.Com Rescues DirecTV DSL UsersJanuary 3, 2003
Yet another DSL provider goes under, this time DirecTV. In mid-December 2002, DirecTV announced that it will shut down its DSL Internet division in early 2003. Latest news says they will keep service available for those subscribers needing to find an alternative only until January 31, 2003, at which time all DirecTV DSL subscribers who have not cancelled will be officially turned off. DirecTV was reselling Verizon DSL, but was unable to make the division profitable, and thus the decision was made to discontinue service. Cape.Com is making a special offer to DirecTV DSL refugees: the standard $25 new account and $60 DSL setup fees will be waived for all DirecTV DSL subscribers who order Cape.Com DSL by February 28, 2003. This is an $85 savings for a smooth transition to a reliable provider. To order DSL, please contact support@cape.com. Related PagesInformation on business-class DSL services.
