New England Jazz Fest Gets Support from Cape.Com

The Boch Center for the Performing Arts will hold its annual New England Jazz Festival, thanks to the support of several local companies including Cape.Com. The Jazz Fest will be held the weekend of August 24-26th under the concert tent at Mashpee Commons. This year's performances include Jazz greats Ahmad Jamal, the Duke Ellington Orchestra and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

Cape.Com has equipped the Boch Center with a gratis DSL connection, affording the non-profit organization the high-speed Internet connection it requires to efficiently conduct business and raise funds for the cultural project. A multimedia video presentation featuring Art Associate Kelsey Grammer, along with a slide presentation were also added to the Boch Center website by Cape.Com.

"Cape Cod is long overdue for a performing arts center of this magnitude. We are pleased we can assist with transforming this dream into a reality," said Suzanne Cosgrove, Cape.Com's Director of Marketing.

The Boch Center for the Performing Arts has been offering an eclectic mix of programming since 1994. While raising funds for its year-round facility, the Boch Center has been holding their various performances at local venues such as Willowbend, Mashpee Commons, Cape Cod Community College and Mashpee High School. Architectural plans for the 70,000 square foot project include a 2,000-seat amphitheater, a 900-seat indoor theatre, a community arts center, and a stage house. The Boch Center hopes to break ground on the 11-acre site located just south of the Mashpee rotary on Great Neck Road South in 2002.
