Switching Back From A National Dialup Number To A Regular Number
To switch back from National Dialup to one of CapeCom's regular dialup numbers:

The National Dialup service must be removed from your CapeCom account to avoid being charged.
- The service may be removed by contacting CapeCom Technical Support at support@cape.com or 508-539-9500.
- You can confirm that the service is removed from your account from Online Accounting:
- Click the "On-Line Accounting" link located under E-Tools.
- Log in with your CapeCom username and password (if you are an associate user, log in with the account manager's
username and password).
- Click the "View Monthly Fixed Charges" link.
- If the "National Dialup" service is not present in the list, then the service is removed.

The following must be changed in your Dial-up Networking settings:
- The national dial-up number must be changed to the regular dial-up number (ending in -4200).
- The "DNS Server Address" must be set to 204.107.252.1 and 204.107.252.7 .
- You must dial in with "yourusername" rather than "yourusername@cape.com".
To make these changes:

In Windows XP/2000:
- Click Start, Control Panel.
- You should see either "Network Connections", "Network and Dial-Up
Connections, or "Network and Internet Connections".
- If you see "Network Connections", click it.
- If you see "Network and Dial-Up Connections", click it.
- If you see "Network and Internet Connections", click it, then, under "Pick a Control Panel Icon", click "Network Connections".
- Under "Dial-up", you should have a CapeCom icon; right-click the CapeCom icon, then click Properties.
- At the "General" tab, change the national dial-up number to the regular dial-up number.
- Click the "Networking" tab.
- Highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click the "Properties" button.
- In the bottom half of the screen, click "Use The Following DNS Server Addresses", then set
"Preferred DNS Server" to "204.107.252.1" , and "Alternate DNS Server" to "204.107.252.7" .
- Click OK, then OK again.
- Begin to connect to CapeCom; when you get to the "Connect To" screen, which displays the username
and dialup number, change "yourusername@cape.com" to "yourusername", then try to connect.

In Windows 95/98:
- From the Desktop, double-click on My Computer, then double-click on Dial-Up
Networking.
- Right-click the Cape.Com icon, then click Properties.
- Under the General tab, change the Phone number from the national dial-up
number to the regular dial-up number.
- Click on "Server Types" (this may appear as a button or a tab).
- Click the "TCP/IP Settings" button.
- Select "Specify Name Server Addresses". In the Primary DNS field enter
"204.107.252.1", and in the Secondary DNS field enter "204.107.252.7" .
- Select OK/OK to return to the desktop.
- Begin to connect to CapeCom; when you get to the "Connect To" screen, which displays the username
and dialup number, change "yourusername@cape.com" to "yourusername", then try to connect.

In Mac OSX:
- Click the Apple menu, then click "System Preferences".
- Click on the Network preference pane.
- Select "Internal Modem" in the pulldown menu labeled "Show."
- In the PPP settings, change the "Account Name" from "yourusername@cape.com" to "yourusername" , and
change the "Telephone Number" to the regular dialup number.
- Click on the heading labelled "TCP/IP", and in the "DNS Servers" field, on the first line enter
"204.107.252.1", and on the second line enter "204.107.252.7" .
- Click the "Apply Now" button.
