Creating A Web Page For eBay Photos

Glossary Items:

  1. On your hard drive, create a file, and name it home.htm

  2. Make the home.htm file look like the following:

                            <HTML>
                            <HEAD>
                            <TITLE>Ebay Photos</TITLE>
                            </HEAD>
                            <BODY>
                            <A HREF="image1.gif">firstimage</A>
                            <A HREF="image2.gif">secondimage</A>
                            </BODY>
                            </HTML>
    
  3. Replace image1.gif with the name of the image file you wish to display, and replace firstimage with a descriptive name, anything you wish. You can add as many of these lines as you have images you would like to display. Save the file home.htm.

  4. Add your website and add the public_html directory (see link below for help with this)

  5. Use your FTP program (WS_FTP for Windows or Fetch for Macs) to move the home.htm file, and the image files you wish to display, into the public_html directory on your website.

  6. Your home page will show a list of the descriptive names that you gave your images; you can click on a descriptive name and it will show the image. The address of your home page is in the form www.vsX.cape.com/~yourusername; The address of the image will be of the form www.vsX.cape.com/~yourusername/image1.gif ; replace image1.gif with the actual file name of the image.
