Recovering Backup Email
Cape.Com stores 30 days of email in backup. Mail delivered to your Junk mailbox, however, is not backed up, and therefore, cannot be recovered. To recover email messages that were sent to your regular inbox during the last 30 days, follow the steps below. Note that you can recover backup email by logging into Webmail. - Log into Cape.Com Webmail by clicking the Webmail links on our site, and enter your Cape.Com username and password.
Once logged in, select the "Recover Mail" folder from the drop-down box in the upper left corner of Webmail (upon log in, you will see your InBox displayed. If you click and hold, the entire drop-down list will show -- select Recover Mail.) You will begin to see a list of stored backup mail for the past 30 days, beginning with the most recent. Please note that this list could be very long, and have several pages. If you are looking for a specific email, you can use the search box and specify a subject, "from" address, "to" address and date to help you locate it quickly. A list will come up displaying all messages that meet your search criteria, including the sender's name, subject and the date/time. If you wish to not use the search function, please realize it can ake a considerable amount of time to bring up this 30-day list for you to browse.
- To recover all messages on a page, click the small box at the top of the far right column (next to "Size") -- this will mark all messages for inclusion. Once all messages are marked, click the "Copy" button above and move them into your InBox folder, using the drop-down list. To recover specific messages on the list, click the box to the far right of each message that you wish to recover, and then click the "Copy" button to move them into your InBox.
- Now check to find these Recovered Emails in your InBox.
