Cape.Com's Mail Server Security Policy
Currently, Cape.Com uses four techniques to curb the amount of SPAM that's introduced into our network. 1) We don't relay. If incoming mail is not destined for cape.com users, or domains that we host, it's rejected. 2) We don't accept mail that comes directly from dialup accounts. This is a favorite spam technique. If you're accessing the Internet through a provider other than Cape.Com, send your outgoing mail to this provider's SMTP server. The SMTP server, in turn, sends your message to the appropriate place. 3) We offer free Spam filtering tools (SpamNabber, MailFilter, Blocklist screen) to our users. These filters can be accessed through Cape.Com's Webmail system. If our mail servers block a connection from a given address, the machine will send a REJECT message back to the sender. This message will contain more information about why the message was rejected. If you're receiving REJECT messages and cannot send email into our network, click the Contact Cape.Com link, located in left-hand sidebar of every web page.
