SpamNabber - Cape.Com's Free Spam Filtering Service
Cape.Com knows that SPAM is a huge problem associated with the advent of the Internet and email. We are proud to offer SpamNabber to combat it. Available free of charge to Cape.Com customers, SpamNabber will usually stop atleast 90 percent of junk email from reaching your regular mailbox. SpamNabber scans the entire mail header and body looking for patterns that are characteristic of Spam. If SpamNabber determines that the message is Spam, the mail is delivered straight to your junk mailbox. The SpamNabber program can be activated, de-activated and controlled through your Cape.Com Webmail. In addition to SpamNabber, users have access to the Cape.Com MailFilter tool. This tool allows users to specify an ALLOW list to further control the flow of messages. The MailFilter checks the following:
These SPAM tools, SpamNabber and MailFilter, can be enabled, customized or disabled at anytime by the user using Cape.Com's Webmail system. We know that Spam is a big nuisance, and while it can be reduced, it will probably never be completely eliminated, much like the junk mail you receive at home. But with these tools, you at least have the power to control it! Email that is caught by either SpamNabber or MailFilter will sit in your junk mailbox for 20 days or until 200 messages have accumulated, whichever comes first, and then be automatically deleted. Please note that mail in your junkbox is not backed up on our servers, and therefore, cannot be recovered. You can check your junk mailbox at any time by using Webmail. For help in using Webmail, see the Related Page below. Be assured that Cape.Com has strict anti-spam and privacy policies, and will not sell, rent or give your email address to a third party.
