Email Aliases for your domain
Email aliases for your domain. What are they and how do they work? An email alias is another email address that you're known by. Email aliases don't have a physical email box that messages are delivered to. Instead, an alias is associated with another REAL email box. This box can reside here at Cape.Com or anywhere else on the Internet. For instance, lets say that the address info@yourdomain.com is associated with yourname@cape.com ( where yourname is a real user here ). Any mail sent to info@yourdomain.com will be silently sent to yourname@cape.com. What's this good for? Within your company, it's a good idea to alias all of the email addresses that are used in business. Examples include info, sales, support, postmaster, and webmaster. When you publish email addresses on business cards and stationary, use the email aliases. Let's say that your sales staff member who was receiving mail sent to sales@yourdomain.com moved to a new postion. You would then, using On-Line Accounting, send sales@yourdomain.com to the new sales person charged with this job. There's no need to change any published, public documentation. Related DocumentsAn Email Alias is a "virtual" mailbox/address. Mail sent to this address
is silently re-directed to an existing email account/mailbox.
