Co-Location Services
What is Co-Location?Colocation is advanced hosting, in which the hosting provider houses your server in its data center. You receive rack space (along with its associated power supply, climate control, and security) and bandwidth, but retain full control - and responsibility - for the server's configuration, administration and maintenance. Cape.Com is pleased to provide Co-Location services within our Mashpee or Quincy facilities. Interested in developing, maintaining and controlling your own internet services on your own server? Do you run critical Internet and telecommunications applications? Are you in need of redundancy? Co-locating with Cape.Com may be right solution for you and your business. Details:- A user-supplied computer system to be co-located at Cape.Com. All co-located gear should be powered by an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS). AC power at our Mashpee location is backed up by a Natural Gas powered generator. This generator is controlled by an automatic cutover switch to provide uninterrupted power to your system.
- The UPS can be supplied by you, or a UPS connection can be rented from Cape.Com for an additional monthly fee.
- Connection to the Internet via 10-baseT Ethernet will be provided by Cape.Com, along with a block of IP addresses as needed. Cape.Com will also provide IP packet routing between the Ethernet and the broader Net.
- Access to co-located equipment will be during Cape.Com's normal business hours. Cape.Com will press the reset button and/or cycle power on demand on the co-located equipment during normal business hours. Access to co-located equipment will be provided outside of normal business hours for an additional fee.
Terms:- Base service includes 256K of Internet Bandwidth; higher bandwidth options available upon request.
- All installation, domain transfer, and first month's fees to be paid before equipment is co-located.
- An invoice will be delivered via email on a monthly basis for services for the current month. Payable NET 20.
- If payment is not received within 30 days of invoice, Internet services may be suspended.
- Either party may revoke this agreement on 30 days notice.
- Note: Cape.Com, Inc., is NOT responsible for loss of equipment due to fire or other disaster, i.e. client should provide insurance.
- Co-location is subject to Cape.Com's Terms and Conditions
Co-location Customers specifically agree to the following conditions:
- Cape.Com services shall only be used as permitted by applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Customer shall refrain from mass posting of the same message to many Usenet newsgroups (spamming).
- Customer shall refrain from sending unsolicited email messages.
- Commercial advertisements shall be posted only where appropriate, and in venues that specifically encourage or allow advertising.
- Customer will respect the conventions of the network and refrain from any actions construed to be negligent or malicious.
- Web sites which contain material that is grossly offensive to the Cape.Com, Inc. community, including but not limited to clear expressions of bigotry, racism, extreme violence or hatred are prohibited.
- Web sites that exploit the images of children under 18 years of age are prohibited.
- Web sites which contain material that defames, abuses or threatens others are prohibited.
