Broadband Voice on Dedicated Connections
Use the power of your high-speed Cape.Com DSL or T1 connection for low-cost Broadband Voice calling! Voice traffic from all of your internal phone lines can automatically pass through your high-speed internet connection. With this easy set-up, there is no need to regularly enter access numbers or PINs. Simply make the calls as you normally would, and the Voice device handles the "behind the scenes" conversion of your call to data so that it may transmit over the high-speed connection. Plus, enjoy free calls between Cape.Com Broadband Voice users*. Your DSL plan or T1 line can support a specific number of lines for Broadband Voice services. First, decide how many internal phone lines you wish to be allocated for Broadband Voice. These lines then need to be equipped with Voice hardware in order for calls made on these lines to automatically flow through your high-speed connection. There is a one-time hardware fee of $50 per line for DSL-Workstation and DSL-SOHO plans, and $75 per line for DSL- Corproate and T1 connections.
Broadband Voice Pricing on Dedicated DSL or T1 LinesBroadband Voice services start at a monthly fee of $15 per line for 600 minutes. Or choose 1000 minutes for just $25/month - these plans offer a rate of 2.5 cents/minute. The "pay as you go" option is not available to Broadband Voice services on DSL or T1 lines -- you must be on a monthly Voice plan to participate. Each line is entitled to the total plan minutes (600 or 1000 per month) for calls made within the continental US**. A maximum of 12 lines offering 12,000 total voice minutes can be allocated for Broadband Voice services (this maximum example refers to a T1 line). For example, you would like to equip your DSL line with Broadband Voice. Your business is on the DSL-Corporate plan. This plan supports up to 6 Broadband Voice lines. You decide you want just 4 telephone lines fed through the DSL connection. Your one-time setup cost would be $300 for hardware ($75 x 4 lines), and a monthly cost of $100 for a maximum of 4,000 voice minutes ($25 x 4 lines at 1,000 minutes x 4 lines.) You may also opt for the 600 minute plan and pay just $60/month for a total of 2400 minutes ($15 x 4 lines at 600 minutes x 4 lines). The Cape.Com Voice Card can also be used in conjunction with a permanently installed Voice device should you need to travel or wish to use your voice plan with a different telephone line (cell phone, pay phone, friend's line, etc.). Minutes used via the Voice Card will apply towards your overall plan minutes. Minutes exceeding your plan minutes, whether accrued via permanent equipment or the Voice Card, will be charged at a rate of 3.5 cents/minute to the continental US, and according to the International Rate Finder.
