Dialup Plans and Pricing

Cape.Com offers two Dial-Up plans to suit the needs of individuals and families, to small groups and large organizations. These plans offer connect speeds up to 56K.

Cape.Com provides local access numbers throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as throughout the continental US. All access numbers support ISDN, V.90/x2 and V.92 protocols. All Dial-Up plans include free technical support with regard to internet access and connectivity. There is a one-time $25 activation fee to open a new account.

Virtually Unlimited

$18/mo.

Our most popular plan, Virtually Unlimited addresses the needs of moderate users of the Net. This plan offers 150 hours per month of connect time for a flat fee of $18. This averages to 5 hours of access a day over a 30-day month. Usage over 150 hours is billed at $1/hr. A Virtually Unlimited account includes a 10 MB Basic FTP/personal website, email account, and access to the Net via PPP connection. Associate users on the same account may be added for $2/month.

Pro Plan

$24/mo.

Designed for individuals or small to mid-size businesses expecting high monthly connect times, the Pro account gives you 350 hours per month of Internet access for a flat fee of $24. This averages to over 11 hours of access a day over a 30-day month. Usage over 350 hours is billed at $1/hr. The Pro plan includes Nationwide Dial-up Service, 10 MB Basic FTP/personal website, email account, and access to the Net via PPP connection. Associate users on the same account may be added for $2/month.

Nationwide Dial-Up Service

Now you can use a convenient, local access number when you are traveling to or living within the continental U.S. (outside of MA and NH) to connect to Cape.Com. This service is included free with the Pro Plan, and just an additional $3/mo. with Virtually Unlimited. See the related link below for more information.

Permanent Dial-Up

$40/mo.

This plan is designed for businesses that want a permanent 24/7 connection to the Internet. On average, it provides 720 hours a month of connect time for one user. We suggest businesses desiring such an "always on" connection consider DSL or ISDN access. DSL is 20 times faster than the average Dial-Up speed and comparable in price. See our DSL details for more information. Since DSL is not readily available at every location, you may also want to consider a dedicated ISDN connection.

Once we receive your completed form, a CD with our internet configurations, access numbers, browser and email software will be sent to you. In most cases, you can be online with Cape.Com in less than 3 days -- faster if you download our software! You may also arrange to pick-up the CD during our business hours. Or you can configure your system yourself.

800 Access

When you're on the road, nationwide and international 800 access is available with all dial-up accounts. Pricing starts at $0.12/minute. Please contact technical support for the 800 number. We purposely do not publish this number on our site for protection against abuse. You can also use our Nationwide access numbers or opt to download our iPass software, which provides local access numbers all over the world, from just $0.05/minute. Simultaneous Connections

A simultaneous login occurs when more than one user is logged in at the same time. The overlap is billed at a rate of 1$/hour. If you expect this to occur frequently, you can add one or more simul to your account. With a simul, two users on your account can be logged in at the same time without incurring any additional hourly charges.

• $30 per simul per month for Permanent Dial-Up

Additional Dialup Services

• Associate Users: $2/month per associate Additional users with unique usernames/passwords billed on the same account. Email, and dial-in access is included in the basic monthly fee.
• Simultaneous Log-Ins: $5 per simul per month for Virtually Unlimited, $8 per simul per month for Pro. Gives you the ability to have multiple users logged in at the same time on one account. Without this, overlaps are billed at $1/hour.
• Mail Aliases: $1/alias; Allows you to have a username longer than the usual 8 character limit. Virtually Hosted customers with an active website receive 25 free aliases ($5/mo. for each additional 25 aliases).
• Mail Forwarding: Free! Control whether email is saved locally at Cape.Com or forwarded to another email address.
• WebMail: Free! Check your Cape.Com mail with a Web Browser. Great for when you're on the road.
• Auto-Responder (mailbot): Free! Automatically generated email responses to your incoming email.
• Winter Shut-down: Put your dial-up account into hibernation and keep your Cape.Com email address when you leave the area for up to 10 months. For just $3/month prepaid, we will retain your account and temporarily forward your email to another address.
• In-Home Internet Installations: $50 (Cape Cod only) Begin your Internet adventure with a veteran by your side. Our trained Internet Support Specialists (ISS) will give you a tour of the Internet, demonstrate software tips and tricks, and show you how to effectively navigate and use the Net.
