Virus Questions

In computing terms, a virus is a malicious program that gets into computer and usually creates problems, often destructive, in the way the machine operates. The most common way of catching a virus is from email attachments, web site downloads, or removable media like CD-Roms or floppy disks. Viruses usually tend to be executable program files and can even come from sharing Microsoft Word documents because of they have an embedded executable macro language built in.

Some of the things viruses have been known to do is destroy files on the "host" machine, impair the use of certain programs, cause the machine to act in unexpected ways, or activate and other programs (like your email program, for example) without the user's knownledge.
